Sing Hosanna!

Our church ministers to the residents at Tall Pines Nursing Facility each fourth Sunday of the month. We sing lots of old fashioned hymns and give a short devotional. It is such a blessing to worship with these older saints.

At Christmas time, we go from hall to hall, singing carols. I remember once when my youngest could barely talk, he and another Sunday School friend went from room to room singing -
"Sing Hosanna!
Sing Hosanna!
Sing Hosanna, to the King of kings!"

(I hope to get some pictures our group this Sunday.)

This year, Christmas is on the fourth Sunday of the month. Many of these people don't have family nearby that visit them. They love the Christmas carols and the attention. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day! I can't wait!

Each year, our church also has a special gift project for a needy family or missionary. This year, we have decided to purchase new large print hymn books for the nursing home residents. The old ones are falling apart and missing pages. I can't wait to see their faces when they see the new books!

As someone whose mom spent several Christmases in a facility before graduating to heaven last year, thank you!
