Faithfully Waiting

Luke 2:25-38

Anna and Simeon are wonderful examples to us of faithful servants of God. Daily they came to the temple to worship and serve the Lord. Both were old, both were praying for their people, both had a yearning to see their Messiah.

"Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ."

What a wonderful promise! What a special reward for a faithful man!

"There was one Anna... she was a widow of fourscore years and four, which did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers day and night."

What dedication! What a gift from the Lord, to see her Redeemer!

Lord, please give me the desire to give my life for Your service. May I be waiting for Your return each day. Amen

I like these two. They knew who their Messiah was,
when so many others didn't. Can you imagine how
they felt? Sunny
