Monday Manna - Best Bible Study Ever

Today's Monday Manna is hosted by Joanne Sher at An Open Book. We are focusing on this verse -

Luke 24:27
"And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself."

All Jerusalem was recovering from a most dramatic Passover. Whether they were priests or children or disciples or Roman soldiers, none would forget those days.

Two of men were returning home. Their leader had been crucified and buried. As they talked, Jesus joined them, but He hid his identity from them.

At first, He pretends not to know what they are talking about. They show their disappointment that the one they thought would redeem Israel from the Romans had been killed. They were confused when the body had disappeared. They didn't know what to think about the whole situation.

Jesus scolds them. "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?" (meaning they had no excuse - they should have known)

Then "... beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself."

Wow!
Can you imagine being taught the Scripture
by Jesus Himself?

Jesus took Scripture after Scripture to show where the prophets had predicted His coming, His death and resurrection. God had given mankind hints of His coming. It was there, but most of the world didn't understand or believe.

God isn't done with His eternal plan for man. There are more prophecies. There is more about Jesus and the end of time. There will be a day when all will see Jesus Christ in all His power and glory. No one will have the excuse of "I didn't know."

Then we will have time the best Bible studies ever, for we will have the Word of God teaching us in Person!

Hoping you had a super Palm Sunday - we did with several people being baptized from age 6 (he really knew why he was getting in that cold tank!) to someone in their 50s or 60s! And others in between! Was a super time with the Lord! Good article to go along with this all!
