Memorizing God's Word makes it part of our life. It teaches us, comforts us, and keeps us from sin. Will you join me in hiding God's Word in our hearts?
In the following weeks, I hope to memorize Isaiah 55. It is a beautiful message of God's greatness and love toward us.
Each week, I will recite what we have learned so far and discuss the meaning of the next verse. I'd love to have you join me in this challenge. You may "recite" in the comments or by email. If you can't say all of them, say just one at a time.
This chapter seems to be starting a new paragraph, a new theme. It's a good place to start afresh with the next section, verses 8-13.
(without looking at my Bible)
Isaiah 55:8-11
8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, saith the Lord.
9. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10. For as the rain cometh down from heaven and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth that it may bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11. So shall my word be that goeth forth from my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but accomplish that which I please and prosper whereto I have sent it.
CORRECTIONS: vs.10
NEW VERSE
"For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."
Oh, what a happy, joyous verse!
Did you ever think of all nature praising God?
Listen ...
to the wind singing
the ocean shouting
the clouds playing their drums
the streams gurgling with glee
the peeper frogs singing at night
the birds dancing on the breeze
the trees clapping their hands with joy.
How can we be silent?
Our whole being should be filled with His joy!
"Let all that hath breath, praise the Lord!"
"The birds upon the treetops sing their song.
The angels chant the chorus all day long.
The flowers in the garden blend their hue,
So why shouldn't I, why shouldn't you
Praise Him too?"
Joy and peace go together.
Even when we are going through rough times,
we can feel the inner joy and peace
that only God can give us.
We can know that He is the King of everything
and He loves us.
Nothing can separate us from Him.
He will never, no never, not ever leave us!
"I sing for I cannot be silent..."
