Now that all the excitement has died down and the kids have drifted back to their own homes, it's time to clean up the clutter and get back to my writing.
My husband got me a hutch/desk so I can have my own writing office. I can't wait to get the tree out, so we can set it up!
Also, my kids all pitched-in and bought me a digital pen, called IRIS notes.
It scans my handwriting so I can transfer it directly to my computer. I think it will be handy for taking notes at a conference or interview. I'll be able to write in the car or outside where my laptop isn't very convenient. I also realized that I can save my maps and sketches for my book.
(I tried to post a sample, but I haven't figured out how to get it to "stick" on my blog.)
I can't wait to discover all its features! So, if you don't hear from me for awhile, you'll know I'm busy, playing with my new toys.

I'd love to hear what you think of the IRIS. Enjoy your new toys!
It's so fun to get new writing goodies! Glad you had a wonderful Christmas with all your kids!
Well, now, that pen sounds like something that would be very useful to me; never heard of it!
I, too, am in desperate need of a new writing space. Really, I need time alone more than the space, but either way, words await their retrieval. Can't wait to get back to it.
Blessings as you go~elaine
