My Anchor, My Love

My life as a child was restless. Our family had moved all about the country. As a senior in high school, I was tired of moving about. I didn't even want to go to college. My dear Randy proposed to me on Sears Island the day before my high school graduation. We married a year later, July 11, 1977.

He built me a house only a few yards from his old home and welcomed me into the Blake family. He's been my roots and my anchor. When I am frustrated or perplexed, he settles me down and always has the most sensible solution for my problem. He's practical and faithful. He's the rock of my life. He loves his God, and he loves me.

We've never had fancy things or traveled the world, but he's given me lots of love and eight wonderful children. He is a great father. He gave our children great memories of camping, wood parties, motorcycle rides, and Saturday morning Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Our life is changing with the children leaving home and having families of their own. He's going to be the greatest Grampy!

Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary. We renewed our vows on our 25th and I'm hoping to "marry" him again for our 50th. The time has passed so quickly. I'm looking forward to plenty more wonderful years with my honey!

Randy, I love you with all my heart forever!
