Sarah's Baby

Genesis 21:6 "And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me."

Not too much is written about Sarah. She must have been beautiful, for the king of Egypt noticed her and wanted her for himself. She loved Abraham, left her family and traveled to who-knows-where. On top of that, she had no children.

I think every woman craves the feeling of holding their own child in their arms. It must pain them to hear mothers complaining about the hardships of motherhood. They'd give anything for piles of laundry and sinks of dishes along with some little ones in the home.

Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth... have you noticed that God withheld children from these women? Then when God did give them a child, it was for a specific part of His plan. I wasn't barren (**smile**)but I know that God has a plan for each of my children too.

I always laugh with Sarah when I read verse 6, because I know she must have been so grateful and happy to finally hold her own child in her arms. I think God must have smiled, too, to be able to make Sarah and Abraham happy, to give them this special gift of a baby.

Sarah is one of my favorite personalities from the Bible. I KNOW she was smiling when she held her precious Isaac. Thanks for sharing, dear!
